Red dried fruits, sweet and spicy character

The most well-known blend worldwide, Bordeaux blend, results from the combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Apiros Hora Red was produced from this combination and the exceptional yield in the area of Epirus.

An aged red dry wine with a unique character. The mild climate of Zitsa contributes in giving Cabernet good tannins when combined with velvety Merlot, the results are of a fine blended wine.

It exhibits a special flavour and finish resulting from the red dried fruits, cherry, the hints of spices and the enriched flavours vanilla and coconut.

Colour, Aroma, Taste

Colour: Dark ruby

Nose: delightfully intense with primary aromatic characteristics that of red fruits and spices such as liquorices, cinnamon and vanilla.

Mouth: full, balanced and with quality tannins. It exhibits a special flavor and finish resulting from the red dried fruits, cherry, the hints of spices and the enriched vanilla and coconut.

HARVEST

25th - 30th of September

VINIFICATION

The de-stemmed grapes are kept at a low temperature 8° – 10°C for 3-4 days. Then the temperature rises and the fermentation commences. Highest temperature of fermentation: 28 °C. After 8-10 days the wine acquires a deep-red colour, smooth full taste and the original flavour of the grapes. Each variety is vinified separately. It matures for 8 – 10 months in mostly new French oak barrels.
